better pickup: CLAUSSEN or SORIANO?

Postby G-Man » Mon Aug 04, 2003 4:34 pm

apparently brandon claussen is moving into the reds' rotation with jimmy haynes going on the DL, and Rafael Soriano is poised to replace Freddy "The Rock" Garcia in seattle's rotation....is either worth an immediate pickup?

Soriano would probably be the better one if he got the job. But Claussen will have a spot in the rotation for sure.

Is there not also talk of Harang getting that spot in Cincy's rotation and not Claussen or with all the injuries here of late, do both of them get a spot??? I haven't heard yet....

I can't believe jimmy haynes was still in the rotation. That guy is horrible.

I would say Soriano would be a little better right now, if not just for the fact that Seattle is the better team.

Soriano guy has already shown he can pitch consistantly on the big league level. Also everything I have read on both makes it sound like Soriano has a bigger upside.

Sorry one more thing if you were a pitcher where would you rather pitch, pitcher friendly Safeco feild or Cinergy field the mini Coors. That should help your decision a little bit.

the question is whether soriano will get into the rotation or not. it remains to bw seen if the mariners will truly yank garcia even with another poor outing and soriano's major value hinges on that.
