General question about trade talks ...

I'm in a couple of Yahoo H2H leagues, with people I know from a couple of internet forum sites. I'd been trying to start trade talks with several teams, sending e-mails (to the one that's linked on the Yahoo page). I've been extremely disappointed that with the exception of a couple people, all my e-mails are ignored. Not even worth the couple seconds it takes to send a "Sorry, not interested" reply. But the owners are active, and I've seen other trades occur between other teams. I thought it seemed like a good idea to start an e-mail discussion before a formal offer, but is this the wrong approach? Could it be that people might not be checking the e-mail account that Yahoo lists, but they'd see a formal offer since it would pop up on their team page? Or maybe I'm just playing with the wrong crowds? How do you guys start trades ... an inquiring e-mail or just an official offer right at the start?

emailing is definitely the right approach as opposed to firing off blind offer after blind offer. And as you've discovered its only useful if someone cares to acknowledge it. Until then, keep sending offers....
