Who would you take - Phil Nevin or Chipper Jones

Postby Guest » Fri Aug 01, 2003 10:12 am

Phil Nevin seems to be rebounding nicely now that he's back in the majors. There's also the added bonus that he could serve as a backup to my 1B and 3B players if one happens to go down. Chipper is banged up (actually watched him limp into second last night), but still producing and he usually has a decent second half. Plus, he's in the Atlanta lineup.

Who would you take for the rest of the year and how much of a difference is there between the two?

I'd stick with Chipper. He's put up good numbers all year, and more importantly, he's in that Atlanta lineup. Nevin's good to keep on the bench, with his 1B/3B and possibly future OF eligibility.

i would rather have chipper. he is in a much better offense and should have a big second half. nevin on the other hand plays for the padres. and you can't expect nevin to come off the dl and have bigger numbers than chipper. chipper produces runs, he's knocked in 100 for 6 years in a row and he will continue to do that as long as he is healthy.

I'd have to go with Chipper too, for the same reasons mentioned above. Also, the reason he was limping into second last night is because earlier in that at-bat he fouled a pitch down off his toes. nothing to worry about there....

Chipper, no question.
Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Nevin. You just can't have a guy named "Chipper" on your team. What's next, "Skippy"?
