As I've mentioned before, the Cubs should have traded the declining 40 year when he was at his peak value and 5-0. A good young SS would have been a great player to get (Aybar or Andrus). Now he can't even win a game anymore and gets chased from every game. He might have some decent starts this year but the window has closed on Maddux and the Cubs would be lucky to get anything for the aging FA at the deadline or any other time. Laughable, simply laughable that they thought at age 40 Maddux would be well...the Maddux of old. I like the Cubs but destiny is against them. WOW.
Rotoworld...
Greg Maddux remained winless in his last five starts after surrendering six runs in six innings to the Marlins on Wednesday.
Maddux is 0-4 since his 5-0 start, and while the Cubs' offense hasn't given him much to work with lately, he has allowed at least a run an inning in each of his losses. Expect him to bounce back soon. It no longer appears that Maddux is in for a stellar year at age 40, but he's probably not going to decline significantly from where he was the last two years.
