This is an upgrade for Ponson owners and a downgrade for Moss owners. Ponson will have a lot of breathing room @ Pac Bell, while Moss is gonna really have to show what he learned from Glavine and Maddux, cause he's all on his own now in Baltimore....

Another interesting trade, thanks for the heads up! :-)

Giants would have a very solid rotation for the rest of the year.

Those that arent in the bay area dont understand.

Ainsworth and Moss are aces in the making.

Thes 2 guys are like a year or 2 away

Wow

Yes and no!! Ainsworth certainly has the makeup to be an ace. Moss, no way! Aces don't walk more batters than they strike out. And Moss is only 24 DAYS younger than Ponson! Moss is just a throw in as far as I am concerned. Ainsworth is the real loss here but we still have Williams and Foppert. Great move by the Giants. I hope they sign him long term. Ponson's best years are still ahead of him. And with Williams and Foppert on the way up, the Giant's staff is set for a long time!! Go Giants!!!!! ;-D

Yes I have since decided that this is a good trade for both teams

1. Schmidt
2. Ponson
3. Williams
4. Foppert
5. Rueter

this is bad news for the braves, cards, and stros. this might be an opportunity for the cubs. i hate to say it, but they are suddenly in this again. if the stros and cards will be at each others necks for the rest of the year, the cubs have a chance to slip in and win the race by a hair. and we all know the braves just better get some pitching or they might as well give up and rest their starters.

Huge Giants fan here. I think this just shows that the Giants think higher of both Williams and Foppert than they do of Ainsworth. Sabean has done nothing but good since he took over here and I think he did it again. Moss and Ponson are not comparable. Giants are loaded with young arms and can afford to make a deal like this. I remember a few years ago they traded away a "can't miss" #1 pick named Jason Grilli? who still I have no idea where he is now. I agree that the trade helps both teams.

I don't think Ponson is all that. Giants are passing up too much for him, Moss and Ainsworth will be great.
