Santana's bandwagon thread: Will re-open Sunday against DET

For those of you freaking out on Santana, here's the thread where you will jump back on the bandwagon. This is the perfect game for him to get back on track. Double-digit Ks and a W are both in order.

Why in God's name did anybody drop Santana?. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid... Obviously, Harden was a good pickup. But there had to have been somebody else on his team more worthy of being dropped than Santana. Dropping him becuase of a couple of off games is just idiotic. The kid is filthy.

but does a victory over Detriot mean anything? His next start might suck again.

He didn't "suck" in his last start. He pitched well overall, but got rocked in one inning. He also had a pretty low whip(1.09) compared to his era(7-something).

my categories arent ERA and WHIP, they are IP hits and ER. 5 ER over 5 innings sucks for me, though the 6 hits was good.

I'm just saying that the low whip is a good sign that he is pitching well, just not getting out of jams. With experience, I think that'll come and he'll be a very solid starter down the stretch.

Santana's still going to be very good. Things just aren't going his way right now.

Hey, you might have been unhappy with two of this starts, but that does NOT make him WW fodder. Good Lord, people. Two bad starts (and they really weren't THAT bad) and people are kicking Santana to the curb. It's simply unbelievable given what this guy did in the 2nd half last year. He just needs to adjust to the switch from the BP to the rotation. That's it... Put him on the bench for now, I suppose.

But make no mistake about it:

Santana rocks! ;-D
