Giles misses record by inches!

Marcus Giles missed the NL record of 10 consecutive hits by flying out to deep center! Too bad, well those who one him can still hope for a 4-5 performance... ;-D

i wish the cubs were in town and instead of ron villone pitching, mark prior would be on the mound. giles would bat cleanup just for the hell of it. prior plunks the first batter, furcal, walks chipper, and then gives up what should have been a triple to shef, but as marcus walks up to furcal who is jogging down to home, he tells him to go back to third. chipper runs back to second, and shef takes first. so marcus steps up to the plate, determined to set the record of 9 consecutive hits. he settles in the box and spits towards prior and points his bat towards center. prior then throws a fastball right down the middle and giles swings at it with all of his strength and belts a bomb right to center field. need i say more?

That would be sweet. That would be perfect revenge for running over him in their last meeting, which caused Giles to miss his first All-Star game....
