These last two starts have really hurt me. Is it time to drop this guy?

His next start is against the Tigers :-). If he can't even tame the tiger, then I'd consider doing that too.

Eh, I wouldn't say that just yet, every pitcher has a few bad starts especially early on when they are teased in and out of a rotation like Johan was.

I'd wait and see how he does against Det. Santana went 5.2 innings, 6 hits, 0 bb, 7 k's. The only thing that was bad was the 5 er. It could have been a completely different story yesterday. If he struggles against the Tigers, then maybe it's time to worry.

ok i'll wait for the beastmaster within to reveal himself. I play in a shallow league where the FA pool is swimming with eligible SP waiting for a chance...

the thing that makes me want to keep Santana on my team is his Sept. schedule: 3 each vs. Ana and Tex, and 7 each vs. Cle and Det, and the only team they play whose any good is 7 games vs. the ChiSox.
I should make the playoffs and his last 2 weeks are very favorable matchups, especially if Min is hot in Sept.
of course, if there's lots of good SP's on the wire then I'd maybe drop him for now, hope no one picks up Santana, and pick him back up when Sept. rolls around (assuming he's worthy of a pick up, of course). just an idea

Same reason I'm keeping Lohse... I need those wins versus CLE and DET

Santana is fine. He's just getting acclamated to starting again. While maybe he was a little over-hyped, the guy is going to be solid down the stretch.

Everybody R-E-L-A-X!!

I can't wait to see everybody jump back on the bandwagon when he rips up Detroit this weekend. I'll go out on a limb and predict 10Ks, 7 solid innings, and a W.

Uh, did you somehow miss his horrendous outing against Clevland last week?

Lohse is junk right now!!!
