How to manuever for some True Power!!

Postby dchild » Tue May 16, 2006 2:10 am

I've been reluctant to trade pitching up to now simply because I'm currently near the bottom in Wins and K's. Not to mention, many of my pitchers have been M.I.A. and are now returning (Lowry,Wood, just picked up Hamels) But I can't wait any longer, the distance I'm falling behind in hitting: HR, RBI, R, OPS, and AVG..(somehow!) is becoming too serious to ignore.....How should I go about to remedy the situation? My hitting has little value at the moment, underachieving, and I'm unsure of the value of my pitching. I'm thinking I could use a slugger at 3B or 2B, even SS. My OF suits me. But what do you think?

I think you have a strong team and should sit tight and be patient. I dropped Morneau earlier this season because I was getting too many ofers. he has picked it up slightly as of late.

Help with mine?

U should definitely trade a SS for POWER!! Im new so i hope i know, but having 2 top CLAibur SS in Reyes and YOung is a waste trade 1 of them for a top slugging infielder or something like a Delgado
Mets in 07!!!!

I use both SS everyday. Reyes as SS, and in our league, we have two utility spots, M. Young takes one of those spots daily. Reyes is tough to trade considering him and Crawford are my only real base-stealing threats, one of the few offensive categories im doing well in thus far. I was thinking of trading Helton or M.Young, and possibly a pitcher, Mussina or Myers/Millwood. Helton just isn't hitting bombs, and in my league power hitting is the key. (OPS category) It might not be worth it though, I don't know if I can get the value I'm looking for from Young or Helton at this point.

I'm torn. Need third or fourth opinions, on top of mine :-[

My only suggestion would be to trade Mussina and a MI for a better MI and then when Cantu comes back it should be a power position. You're kinda of hamstrung until all your young pitchers prove themselves. If Hamels and Lowry come on strong you will have some bargaining chips. Patience were not far enough in to panic yet.
