Matsui: At What Point Do Services Make Players Droppable?

Postby d18Mike » Fri May 12, 2006 6:06 am

The set-up of my Sportsline League makes keeping a player who is injured for 3 months or so (according to Torre) a real competitive disadvantage.

At what point do services like Sportline move "undroppable" players to the "droppable" list.

And before everyone begins to rag on me for thinking about droping Matsui, it's a small bench 10-team with a 2 player bench --plenty of talent on the FA wire and I already have Derek Lee in my other bench spot.

I think it does get modified--in Yahoo! at least. I don't know about Sportsline.

For what its worth, in a fantasy hockey league I was in this year Pavol Demitra was originally undroppable, but yahoo moved him to "droppable" only after he had been out 2 months...

8-o

So you dont draft any of the top studs, who are usually on the list, instead focusing on the mid-level players that are droppable? Is that a winning strategy?

I have seen the list be modified, usually in the case of a long term injury like this one, e.g. Tracy McGrady in this seasons basketball leagues.

I have him in a Sportsline keeper without DL slots! :~(

i didnt even know Sportsline had an undroppable list in their standard leagues, but now that i think about it, i guess they do

it'll probably take a few days, you might want to email Sportsline about it and see if they can speed it up.

Man I couldn't drop Kevin Jones last year!! :-P
The odds of the AL MVP coming from the American League are looking pretty good.

In Yahoo if a guy is undroppable but someone wants to ditch him, usually due to injury, the commish can just turn off the Can't Cut List temporarily to allow the drop and then turn it back on when the transaction has been completed.

Not sure about Sportsline.
