And with Delgado, Wright and Floyd protecting him he's a lock to score 100 runs. I'm worried that he might not get to 30+ sbs, but I'm positive that he can get to 20sbs. Reyes is even walking now so it's only a matter of time before the rbis start rolling in.
That is actually an accurate assessment. I do not think that people know just how well he is doing right now. I know that it is still early and his play can desintegrate, however early on it appears that Delgado's greatest value to the Mets might have been to take some of the pressure from Beltran and provide him with protection.
He's hit 8 homers in 21 games played. And that includes the game when he took himself out. He is currently slugging .671 & has a 1.112 OPS. Those are two very good stats that serve as an indicator.
I don't know about first round, but I'd put him in mid/late second.
If he keeps up this production, he's early 2nd but I'd discount it a little bit by injury concerns.
I'm not going to put him into the top 10, but his play in the games he has played in so far this year have been closer to Bay or Wright than it has to Dunn or Aramis.
