I thought I heard somewhere that with Williamson most likely being traded in the next week, Acevedo would become the closer...anyone else hear that?

I think you're right, that must be who I had heard could be taking over the closer duties, thanks ;-D

Ryan Wagner was the 14th pick in the draft and 2 monthhs laters he's in the majors! Pretty impressive!

Personally, I think they rushed Wagner. We'll see how he turns out.

Great question. I have him on my watch list. If he pitches well his next time out, then he is worth a shot. Third time will be the charm for me.

Comments that Ryan Wagner is being pushed -- Yeah, he got to the majors really fast, but so far the Reds aren't pushing him. His first appearance he retired the 5 batters he faced, and Bob Boone pulled him to the boos of the crowd, but Boone was not going to do anything to damage this young pitcher. So far, he has not been placed in any pressure situations, so I don't see him closing this year. He's just getting experience. Dave Miley may manage him differently, but with Miley's minor league development mindset, I don't think he'll push Wagner either.

Acevedo has another good outing. After charged for 4 runs in the 2nd, he has settled down since. Stud or not, I'd add him to my lineup if he continues. :-)
