Team Battered- Need Advice- WHIR

Postby Gang Green » Mon May 01, 2006 2:52 pm

I'm 12-30-4, 16.5 games out of a playoff spot. I know it's April but I don't want to incur any further damage to my playoff hopes. 6X6 12 team H2H league counting OPS & CG's.

C- Mauer
1B- Howard
2B- Utley
SS- Peralta
3B- A. Ramirez
OF- Crawford
OF- Kearns
OF- Granderson
Util- Mench
B- Wilkerson
B- Beltre

SP- C. Zambrano
SP- Lackey
SP- Haren
SP- D. Cabrera
SP- R. Madson
SP- E. Santana
SP- Seo
RP- C. Cordero
RP- Valverde
RP- Otsuka

I've been lacking in power. Mauer, Utley, Howard, Peralta, Ramirez..basically all my hitters are not hitting to their potential power. Does my lineup have enough pop in it to supply power or do I need to make a change? I actually think Lackey will have as good if not a better season than Zambrano. Maybe packaging Zambrano for a big power bat? Let me know when you get a chance. Your help is greatly appreciated.
I could be wrong in what I'm saying but I'll be dead before I realize it.

If anything, you should be looking to add another arm. I don't like any of your starters beyond CZam, Lackey, and Haren. Your power numbers are going to come around, you just got stuck with some guys who started slow. Obviously your OF could use more pop, but there isn't much you can do about that without further weakening your pitching.

Get rid of Cabrera and Madson...try to package them for a guy like Blanton. Also, try to sell Granderson high and package him with a guy like Mench or Kearns and see if you can get a power bat like Wells or buy low on someone like Sheffield.
