What's his deal? Does anybody think he can turn it around and have a solid season? Can't hurt that he pitches at RFK.

I think all those innings finally put a toll on him. I remember the time he pitched more than a 150 in a game. 8-o

He has been slipping the past couple years now, it just hasn't fully shown in his ERA. I am not high on him at all.

I dropped him over 2 weeks ago and no one has even bothered to touch the guy. He's done as far as fantasy is concerned.

Those numbers are reasonable but you have to add a 1.38-1.42 WHIP to it. In a yahoo default type league thats not a pitcher worth owning unless you are spot starting him at home against poor offenses only. In a deeper league or NL only league he has some value as a back of your rotation guy.

only thing is, he is GREAT (well, was) in that type of role. guy is just a workhorse who didn't get lit up. if you factored his whip in to your plans, it wasn't a biggie. Plus, he always had a stretch of good ball, so you could almost always offer him up with a good bat and upgrade your hitting if you timed it right.

Check the teams he has faced:

@NYM, NYM
@PHI
@HOU (Enron)
CIN

And next matchup is St. Louis.

Those are some great offensive teams. I plan on benching him when the matchup is unfavorable, but I think when he faces some mediocre hitting teams he should be fine.

good point. Livan seems to get written off every year but he always seems to find his way onto fantasy lineups and provide some useful production. Curb your expectations and play the matchups/hot streaks, especially at RFK.
