M. Giles vs B. Roberts

Postby stoner420 » Fri Apr 28, 2006 2:49 am

Hey guys, for the rest of the year, who do you like, the struggling giles or roberts who has done fairly well. my league is pts so steals arent a big deal. but this is not a trade question, im just looking for thoughts on the two of them in general for the rest of the season. thanks.

I think Roberts is better. Never been a huge Giles fan, he just seems so medicore to me and has a low ceiling.

yeah. doubt i will do roberts and otsuka for giles. to be honest i like roberts more than giles in a pts league and maybe even in a roto league. this will probably come back and haunt me when giles starts hitting.

Depends on the point system but I have to think Giles is more valuable.

In a standard 5x5, Giles.

he hadn't found it in any season but last. he's a doubles hitter and his 18hr last year was a fluke.

i like giles here. he can be counted on for 300 avg 15-20hr and 15-20stolen bases, along with scoring a ton of runs batting leadoff.

I'd take Giles, though I disagree with the above post about the HR's only being a fluke. Doubles generally translate into HR's so the astute owner expected 12ish out of him last year. With the injury he might not regain that power though, he's not hitting the ball with as much authority so far.
