Going back say 30 years, which inning are the most runs scored? It would be nice to see a histogram of innings 1-9 and the average number of runs scored in each inning per game for the last 30 years (or whatever timeframe). I know someone can make that happen.

My guess would be the 1st.

My guess would be the 6th or 7th since which is usually the time when SP usually get taken out of the game because they are in trouble.

I am thinking the 7th because that's when it always gets dicey whether or not to pull your starter who has pitched fairly well.

Ya i agree. Just wondering why you want to know tho? Does your league have inning changes? :-D

It's the first inning if I'm not mistaken.

First makes intuitive sense to me. That's when most starters who just don't have it on a day get bombed, then they're replaced by someone who does a more regular job. Also when teams get out to an early lead they play more conservatively later on ("playing by the code"=less agression) which would decrease later inning run output.

I'd also guess 1st.

Livan, Glavine (historically), spot starters, 5th starters...

I'm on board with the first inning.

So what's the answer?
