Oscar Villarreal to the rotation? Interesting

Postby Simulacrum » Thu Apr 27, 2006 1:59 pm

Have you guys heard anything about this?

ImageApr 26 Braves.MLB.com reports Atlanta Braves P Oscar Villarreal (4-0, 1.80) will start Wednesday, April 26, versus the Milwaukee Brewers.

Of course, he didn't actually start yesterday.. this is odd. Anyone think he'd actually be a good starter for the Braves? :-?

Haven't heard anything of the sort. Chuck James will start before anyone else in the pen.

Villareal is never going to start. James is probably the next guy the Braves would tap, although Horacio Ramirez should be coming off the DL at some point here. Villy is a relief pitcher and has been his entire career. I've heard no talk of him doing anything different.
