Interesting because I just read this:

user on John Sickels Blog wrote:According to the broadcasters

it wasn't intentional... just a harmless flick of the bat out of frustration that happened to hit the ump. Still, not the smartest thing to do regardless.

I own him in a non-keeper league and I am feeling like it's time to let go.

Of course that is what the broadcasters will say, they know public opinion is crucial & that the D-rays franchise future pretty much rests on Young's shoulders....who pays these announcers again...oh yeah the D-rays.

I want to see the video...it has to be out there somewhere.....

This from here

The Bulls won the game without Delmon Young after the first inning. The 20-year-old was ejected in the frame for arguing balls and strikes after a stikeout, and then flipped his bat, hitting the umpire with it in the chest protector.

still need to see video though, but regardless, it was stupid.

Could he be out for more than the rest of the season? :-?

Some guy on the braves or a braves minor league did this a few years ago and was thrown out of baseball.

Interesting. I still would like to see some report that is not being put out by the D-rays franchise or anyone who is being paid by them.

Probably not considering you only get 5 games for spitting an an umps face.

I wonder if the fact that it was an replacement ump had something to do with it.

Maybe a bit but not alot. Now all those striking umps have another reason to keep on their strike, "their lives are at risk" haha.
