I think this is the year the Cards deal him for something while they still can.

I doubt it. Cards are trying to win a WS.

Yeah, I understand that. But I just have this feeling he's going to break his leg or something and be out the entire year (ala Griffey) then they have nothing. He just looks old and brittle (apart from the HR he hit tonight). They need to reload on some young OFs. Maybe that Reyes for Quentin trade might resurface. Also, an extension of Mulder would be great! They just have some questions in their OF and starting pitching after this year that I'm very worried about.

35 seems unreasonably high. At the very least, he'll be rested periodically so that even if his shoulder ailment doesn't worsen, he won't likely play more than 135 games. And the shoulder is definitely a concern.

I'd look for 25 neighborhood and a .270ish BA. Acceptable for sure, but Edmonds is no longer near the elite category.

The shoulder is a concern but I don't know how you say he won't likely play more than 135 games. The last time he didn't hit that mark was 1999. He takes frequent days off but he also plays through injury. The only way I see him playing in less than 140 games is if he goes on the DL.
