you decide

That's not necessarily true. I believe TheYanks was referring to 'streaks' like the one Lieber had last September, when he carried a 1.76 ERA and 0.88 WHIP through 6 starts. He did K slightly less than 5 per outing in that stretch, but I don't know about you, I'll gladly take those ratios and 5 K/start. Problem is, this was a huge statistical outlier for 2005. He had a decent August, 3.51 ERA, with a nice 1.07 WHIP, but beyond that, he was pretty garbage.

For his career, Lieber pitches best in September, so maybe you'll want to take a look at home come H2H playoff time, or to fill your IP limit up at the end of your roto season, but for mixed leagues, let him slide. Now, as far as NL only is concerned, maybe take a look, but even then, I'd have trouble stomaching a guy on my roster with an ERA a penny under 8 and a WHIP of nearly a buck fifty.

lieber is a decent pitcher, i dunno why people think he's trash after couple bad starts. last year, he turned it on during 2nd half so maybe he's a second half player. anyways, i like his strikeouts and WHIP and he pitches well away from home. hes a nice pitcher to have on your bench to start away games (except coors) and against weak hitting teams at home.
