FYI- Hamels has been promoted to Triple A Scranton--- Look out Gavin Floyd.

Cole has been lights out and healthy so far this season. He's always been absolutely filthy- just battled a few injury issues.

Remember, this guy was the crown jewel of the Phils farm system- well ahead of Ryan Howard and Chase Utley when he was drafted in '02.

Hamels is a legit top 5 starting pitcher when healthy. However, it would be a huge mistake for them to bring him up to MLB though given his injury history.

Hopefully they keep him healthy for a full season for once before they bring him up.

I think its more like look out Cory Lidle. I could see Lidle traded midseason if Philly falls back.

Speaking as a Phillies fan, I can't wait to see this kid pitch in the majors. Lord knows the Phillies desperately need a stud pitcher to push them over the top. Definitely don't want to rush Hamels, but boy would he be more fun to watch than Lidle and Lieber. His minor league numbers are very Gooden-esque.

Ok, he's got the talent, but he's been super brittle. I want to see him stay healthy for a bit before I get excited.

I really hope he can stay healthy this year, I almost feel bad for the kid w/ the injuries. He has great stuff and knows how to pitch, I've said it before but IMO he was better then Kazmir at the same age. Sad to see him not get a chance to rival him up through the levels.

One could hope, but his promotion to AAA was a long time coming. He's been around seemingly forever. Let him stay there for '06, and '07, let him play for a roster spot.

Hamels has pitched 172 career inning in the minors and only given up 3HR!!!

Wow I just read that if Coles breezes thru AAA, he may be called up in June. I would definitely keep an eye on his progress.

Philly Staff mid 2006-2007?

Myers
Lieber
Wolf
Hamels
Floyd

Not a big Lieber fan, but if they live up to the hype, watch out NL East.
