What to do With Vlad Back?

Postby blankman » Sun Jul 20, 2003 10:05 am

Well, with Vlad coming back, I'm kinda dumbfounded of what to do with him. I'll have to waive someone but who? And where will he play(Giles?) or should I wait on him awhile before I start him?

4-team roto Hitting(1st in all but SB): R H HR RBI BB SB AVG
20 back in saves, so should I give up and drop Williamson? Team ahead of me has Percival Wagner Izzy Borowski, so catching him may be impossible. I'm also 48 IP OVER, so Dotel?

Trading is NOT an option, b/c its nearly impossible to trade with the other owners.

If holds don't count as a pitching catagory, the Dotel is a good option...The other thing you could do is drop Bagwell...With Helton at 1B and Delgado at UT Bagwell is expendable. Since you can't trade him he only has marginal value in your line up....

Dotel would be the first to go.

Alright, so I'll waive Dotel, but where should I play Vlad or should I not play him at all?

Ummm...in the OF.... ;-)

With the OFers you have, bench him to start. But when he starts out producing Giles or Berkman, slide him in. He should have a better half than them.... ;-D

I'd definitely drop Dotel first..... btw, are you playing with a league of idiots? That's a pretty good lineup.

Seriously.. what the hell? 4 team league? retarded opponents?

With a team like that, you dont need advice on what to do with Vlad. When your hardest decision is "who should I bench, Vlad Giles or Berkman", you dont need advice, you need a coin flip. And when Octavio Dotel is someone on your team that you would drop.. well, its just dumb. Wheres the fun?

No offense blankman, but I'm with Longshot on this one. Why join a 4 team league with your friends when you could join a 12 team competitive public league? What fun is it when every team is stacked and you don't have room on your rosters for callups like Webb, Willis, and Harden b/c you can't decide whether to drop Pedro, Prior, or Zito? Maybe it's just me, but I enjoy it when my waiver postion matters.

Sorry for the rant, but I have a pet peeve with these type posts in general, not just yours.
