Texas Rangers sign pitcher John Hudgins

July 18, 2003
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- John Hudgins, the Most Outstanding Player at last month's College World Series, signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on Friday.

Hudgins, a third-round pick in last month's draft, will report to the Rangers' Class-A Clinton affiliate in the Midwest League.

Hudgins tied a College World Series record with three wins, leading Stanford to a runner-up finish to Rice. Hudgins was also the Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year, going 14-3 with a 2.99 ERA for the Cardinal.

The Rangers have signed 25 of the 44 players drafted this year, including 11 of the top 12 and 15 of the top 17 picks.

Looks like we might actually have some decent pitching down the road with all the new pitchers the Rangers are getting.
Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
