This isn't a new idea, but this guy took it farther than anyone prior to him. But the general idea: A software-driven barter-economy has the potential to change the world. It just needs to be streamlined and more accessable...Craigslist already offers something similar to this, but in order to do it yourself it would be too time consuming. What we need is something like Craigslist, but instead of representing ourselves (and thus having thousands upon thousands of users) we would have to be represented by some kind of agent. It could work.

stevethumb wrote:I HAVE BEEN OFFICIALLY RIPPED OFF !!! i did something very similar while in college in the early 70s...i started w/a penny

as a joke the penny was traded for a nickel, the nickel for a dime and the dime for a quarter..then i got to thinking how far could i go..i bought a vase at a yard sale for the quarter (this is the 70s so keep these prices in mind)..

i traded the vase for 2 0rganic chemistry books
the books were traded for an almost new baseball glove and 1/2 dozen slightly used baseballs

those were traded for a used set of irons 4-9 PW

which was traded for a new leather jacket which my girlfriend seized and ended my trade up...i think i could have made it to a new car which was my goal (a new datsun back then was around $1900)...but i got a leather jacket for penny

Are you interested in joining a 28 teams dynasty league? If so, PM me.
