How's this offense look?

Postby Egregious » Wed Jul 16, 2003 10:33 pm

Hi. This team is in a 2nd-half 12-team 5x5 non-keeper league. I've had to cobble the pitching together a bit, since due to an autopick snafu I drafted no closers (I did draft Trevor Hoffman, though, unhelpfully).
I think my pitching will probably be strong enough to keep me near the top in those categories. I'm a little worried about my offense, though - does it look like I should trade some of my pitching strength for offense?

C Greg Myers
1B Sexson
2B Biggio
3B Pujols
SS O. Cabrera
OF Ichiro
OF Edmonds
OF Juan Pierre
Util Aramis Ramirez
Bench Dmitri Young
DL Piazza

SP Pedro, Randy Johnson, Josh Beckett, Jamie Moyer
RP Hasegawa, Rod Beck, Justin Speier, Francisco Cordero, Tom Gordon, Valverde, Aquilino Lopez

Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't say your set in the SP department. You got a great 1-2-3 punch, but a unreliable #4. Your power numbers look weak with that lineup (Myers, Biggio, Ichiro, Pierre all with 10 or less HR's). I'd trade Sexson and Pierre for possibly a good OF and a RP who will get saves. Move the MeatHook into Pierre's spot,Aramis into Pujols spot, and Pujols into Sexsons.
