I know I'd take that offer in a hurry. Think it's a good deal for you.

When star players are somewhat hurt, why put them through the extra chance of injury by stealing a base (which stats show usually turns out to be worthless anyways, ask the losing Marlins). A lot of times a head first dive is necessary for steals...lets see you have shoulder pain and hit the dirt head-first after a full-sprint. I'm sure Bagwell's shoulder isn't hurting him too much, he's smarter than to push himself like that.

Slomo, read my last post again. Bagwell ISN'T injured. He's WEAKENED. Jeter is a different case, since he's still recuperating and doesn't want to hinder that. Bagwell likely is at his peak right now, so he's doing whatever he can, which unfortunately is not as much as he could do a few years ago. I think you're relying too much on Bagwell's name here without looking at the facts.

I don't know. He smacked 10 homers in the first month and has hit only 4 or 5 since then.

I'm worried though that if Bagwell is slumping because of a bum shoulder then this deal could really turn around to bite me back hard.

Thats a great deal. Thomes edge over Bags is no where close to Zitos edge over Podsednik.

Courtesy of Rotoworld:

Jeff Bagwell homered for the second straight game tonight. He also walked twice.
Bagwell is 6-for-15 with five RBI, seven runs scored and seven
walks over the last six games.

....Yeah I'm REAL worried, I hope he breaks out of this soon!

He has started heating up. Has anyone looked at his stats splits? He is batting really well at night, .300+, and really crappy during the day, .150.
