we are playing 10 team 7x7 H2H 25 man rosters
the stats are...
pitching W, CG, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, K/BB
hitting R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OB%, SLG
...the setup we have is a little more like the real game of baseball while maintaining the 5x5 stats.
I chose to punt the SB catagory because...well it makes a whole hell of a lot of sence when you throw OB% and SLG into the mix...take a look at podsednik in this type of league...the stolen bases are not worth it if you have to carry a guy with 0 HR, 25 RBI, and a SLG of .349...punting a stat in a 7x7 league is not as risky as in a 5x5 league. Guys with good SLG% tend to hit homeruns and get RBI...I'll take the tri-fecta over the SBs any day.
I am 1 closer short of domination they went way to quick in the draft...I figure a closer will be the difference of 8 games in the final standings for me as I stand to lose saves most of the time...but having an 8th sp instead of a 4th relief pitcher will boost my win total, CG's, and K's. There is my dilemma. I dont feel like trading for a closer.
Hopefully if I am patient with Devine he will pay off.
The other managers in this league are pretty avid although I took them to school on draft day.
