Better Second Half? Wakefield or Escobar?

Postby RoxSox8 » Thu Jul 10, 2003 2:55 am

I currently have Escobar and being a die-hard and often, Red Sox fan, I am thinking of picking up Wakefield. The other FA pitchers available include M. Batista and H. Ramirez. :-?

At this point, I would go with Wakefield, since he is playing for a legitimate contender, and should have a couple more wins then Escobar by seasons end. Toronto is a very streaky team, and currently their down, but with that offense they could easily run off 10 in a row, and two of those would likely be Escobar. They both give you k's with an ERA around 4.00. Ramirez is currently on a good run with Atlanta, and may be the best of the three currently, but may fade in the second half as many young pitchers often do. Ride him while he's hot. !+)

I'd take Ramirez over the other 3 for the time being. I'd probably go with Batista for the long run.
