I don't like SHO because it's too random, and I don't like IP. CG is pretty random too.

If you're going to have H and AVG, I would put BB in there so that one type of hitter is not favoured to much.
The odds of the AL MVP coming from the American League are looking pretty good.

6 hitting cats
9 pitching cats

why the extra pitching cats?

IP
CG
SHO

I do like CG & SHO but only in points leagues. The winner of that category will likely have...what....6 SHO.

Well the CG, SHO Cats are really for those who enjoy jokers and wild cards in poker.

As far as IP, I like the strategy it puts into your ratio categories. The IP category is won by pitching more, which increases the chances of your WHIP and ERA getting blown out of the water. Although you can acheive this with L as well. Makes it tough to win all of the Cats.

The IP only raises ERA and WHIP because, in an effort to win the IP category, more pitchers that aren't as good will be employed simply because they pitch 200 innings. The IP category is just silly, IMO, though it DOES add to the strategy of the game.

I do like CG and SHO in a points-only league.
