9.18 runs per game in 2005, the lowest mark since 1992. Also, there were 2.06 home runs per game, the lowest mark since 1997.

37.5 percent of 30-save or more pitchers in 2004 who also had 30 saves in 2005, lending credence to the theory that the top saves guys don't always remain the top saves guys.

14.2 at-bats per home run N.L. rookie of the year Ryan Howard. He homered more frequently than big names such as albert Pujols and mark teixeira.
