Morneau?

Postby One-Hitter » Mon Mar 27, 2006 6:17 pm

i have morneau as my only 1B

mike jacobs & chris shelton are free agents

my league is 7x7 (total bases, fielding %)

should i be happy with what i have or should i snatch either jacobs or shelton while they are still on the wire? my gut says to hang onto morneau but i'm a white sox fan who hates the twinkies so it is tough. plus i hear jacobs is hitting cleanup...

decisions, decisions

Wrong forum, but stick with Morneau and see how he starts out this year. He was sick all last year during spring training and never got on track. Wait and see.

I don't really like Morneau really. Shelton and Jacobs are both solid options, though I'd rank Shelton slightly ahead of Jacobs.

Rosenthal had a blurb about Morneau looking good this spring. Says he's healthy, happy, and feels good. I see 35HR from the guy this year - and Minnesota's not going anywhere unless they get that production AND put Liriano in the rotation.

The guy had 19 homers in 300 abs in 2004, then he had his rediculously unlucky preseason stuff happen last year...I'd say hes got a great shot at hitting hrs in the 30s, hes hitting cleanup, if the twins don't underprform like they did last year he could be a bargain basement steal. Kaboom.
