What did it take to win an 8 team 5X5 roto last year?

Postby kaiser » Mon Mar 27, 2006 4:00 pm

Does anyone have their numbers from last year for an 8 team mlb 5X5 roto league?

Specifically, i am interested intrying to get an idea of what the winner achieved in each catagory. If I could get these numbers from a few different leagues from last year, it would give a good statistical indicator of what to shoot for this year, information I would happily post here, and email to anyone who helps out with this.

Thanks!

I'm curious about the same thing as well...would love to get some different formats and compile the numbers...maybe even find some correlation between different formats (though I doubt that part).

kaiser,
I was wondering this last year, but I couldn't find the info anywhere. I took each team's opening roster and tallied up their starters' stats from the previous season (with rough projections for guys that just played half the season), and then listed each team's totals in each category.

I was doing this for a 10-team league, and I figured that a team that finished 3rd in each category would be competing for the championship. I don't have the numbers anymore, but I set my goals in each category for the third-place stats and made decisions based on those numbers. This assumes you're not punting a category... of course there's more than one way to win...

For an 8-team league I'd shoot for 2nd in each cat. This is all very imprecise, but it was a good start for me last year. Just my two cents, hope it helps.
