Lugo is day-to-day. Luis Ordaz started at shortstop. The Rays still haven't decided who will back up Lugo during the regular season and may consider bringing in outside help (Brandon Phillps?).

Update: Lugo (groin) was back in action for the Devil Rays on Monday, going 2-for-4 with a double.
Recommendation: Lugo was scratched on Saturday due to right groin tightness and has been out since, but is good to go now.
Well, I wouldn't call him "Good to go" just yet. When I see him stealing bases again, I'll feel better about him. Just the same, a groin injury is an injury that keeps coming back to haunt you (see Dave Roberts last year). Once he gets going for a week or two, I think I'm going to see if I can get someone to trade for him.
How do others feel about the effect his groin injury will have on his game?
