Looking for a sleeper

Postby Quaker » Mon Jul 07, 2003 9:21 pm

My Morgan Ensberg experiment failed. I can't tell when he's playing, and he's cooled off a lot, so I'm dumping him. I don't know who to pick up though, nothing on the wire looks appetizing. Anyone have any recommendations? I play in a points league (1 point for every total base, 1.5 rbis, 1 run, 1 sb, 1 bb, -1k, -1 error. so the points favor power, and speedy guys who hit for average aren't as useful).

Here are the top guys available, as ranked by Yahoo:
Eric Young, Matt Lawton, Podsednik, DaVanon, Wiggington, A Ramirez, David Ortiz

Right now I'm thinking Ramirez (even though I've owned him and dumped him twice this season already) or Ortiz.

Here's my roster
C- R Hernandez
1b- Giambi
2b- Vidro
3b- Pujols
SS- Aurilia/Deivi Cruz, depending on matchup
LF- Garrett Anderson
OF- Brian Giles
IF- Dunn/Hinske, depending on matchup
Util- Raul Ibanez

Bench- Ensberg

I don't need any pitching.

So, does anyone have any helpful suggestions? Thanks.

I picked up Podsednik a week ago and he's been nothing but solid for me. He hits for a great average and gets you runs and SBs.

I have stuck with Ensberg and he has payed off. I had a stretch were I benched him but the guy has to much talent to put on the waiver wire. Just a year ago he was being touted as the second coming. Patience man patience. But then again you are talking to a guy that has held on to Johan Santana for half a season.

You need to find some room for Aramis on your roster also. I am sure you are carrying at least one rag armed pitcher that you can dump for him.
