URGENT: HELP and rate my team

Postby hohoyoyoyo » Mon Mar 20, 2006 10:06 pm

I am in an 8 team league, head to head...15 categories
Hitting: Hits. Runs, HR, RBI, Stolen bases, HBP, TB, Error, Avg
Pitching: Wins, Complete Game, Saves, K, ERA, WHIP
Below is my team, tell me your thoughts on my team (the more detailed the better) and give some suggestions...thank you all

-----------------------------------------------------------
C- Pudge
1B- Prince Fielder
1B- Dan Johnson
2B-Robinson Cano
2B-Ronnie Belliard
3B-Hank Blalock
3B-Adrian Beltre
SS-Jimmy Rollins
SS-Carlos Guillen
LF-Carlos Lee
LF-Randy Winn
LF-Willie Mo Pena (just picked him up after i read about his potential and him playing in boston...is it a good choice?)
CF-Juan Pierre
CF-Torii Hunter
CF-Granderson (good sleeper?)
RF-Guererro
RF-Jose Guillen
RF-Burnitz (is he just too old or he can still hit 25-30HR?)
Utility-Hermida (i just picked him up over zimmerman to gain power...of hermida/dejesus/zimmerman who would you pick?)

pitching staff is here:

SP-Roy Halladay
SP-Carlos Zambrano
SP-Tim Hudson
SP-Javier Vasquez
SP-Jorge Sosa (sleeper pick, will he do well?)
RP-Jason Isringhausen
RP-Francisco Cordero
P-Jeremy Bonderman
P-Ervin Santana (i read that he is sleeper, is he worth the risk?)
P-Derek Lowe

-------------------------------------------------

My take on my team- not exactly the best team i thought i can have especially that i am in an 8 team league

Anyways, I think that it's a balanced/boring team...it's not bad, but not spectacular

While i like balance, i do think that i sort of lack, comparing to other teams RBI machines or power guys
What you guys think the rookies/sleepers will do on my team?
80+ RBI for all of them?

has some speed and some power and solid pitching staff all around...but just too avg to be spectacular when you first look at it

but of course, most of the time the team that has the most dazzling line up tend to fade ;-D

Anyways, thank you all for your time :-b :-D [/b]

Here are some other teams in my league that i think is good...please comment on whether my team can hold up against them...thank you ;-D

good team, i like the mo pena pick. If I have to choose between two equal players but one being on a high scoring team like the sox or yanks i go with that guy every time. I've heard good things about Santana.

W. Mo Pena isn't slated for starting position, so you might not get as many innings as you might be hoping for. With Gonzalez I know there’s better on the wire, he might be able to fill some places for you down the road but I think with the starting line-up you have what place is he going to fill. All you position players are better rated that him. I would consider trading him for some one who plays more innings.

yeah i know he will be 4th OF
however you got to like his power
and personally i think, comparing to other teams my TB and HR is a bit weak

since most of my players are like machine guns instead of cannons

Luis gonzalez..yeah...i am not totally hot for him, just that he play for so many positions and i kind of lack multi position players

ok...so your suggestion is? get burnitz?

Not too shabby! Sometimes balance IS a good thing! I like your pitching...and I like Santana!!! I agree that you could find better than Luis Gonzalez(he'll hit for avg.). I like Pena also, I believe he'll split time w/Trot Nixon though. Zimmerman has potential to be a break out! Good Luck !!!

That is a very nice team. I question your firstbase choices only because the field was so deep and you ended up w/ an unproven (But highly regarded rookie) and an injured Sweeney. I love the upside in Blalock, he'll bounce back. Beltre is great insurance. YOu have great SS's. You could definitely find a more valuable replacement than Gonzalez for the OF. And I would take either DeJesus or Burnitz over him.

Your pitching is very solid. I don't like Vazquez because I am a Yankee fan, but I still admit that he is a good option outside of New york. Bonderman is a smart choice and Santana is a sleeper but I think he might need another year or so. If Cabrera or Bedard is still available why not make a run at either?

Overall the team has a good balance of SP, speed, runs, hits...The power could be improved upon but it's not crucial.
Only the winner can go to dinner...

seems like luis gonzalez the colorado guy is not popular choice...i already replaced him with burnitz (which will further deplete my team's versatility but i gain power hopefully)

for 1B...sweeney doesnt seem popular...should i take Erstad?
