But you gotta admit, Ichiro is the best leadoff hitter.

This is probably, true. Where are Rickey Henderson, Tim Raines, Brett Butler, and Lenny Dykstra when you need them...

I think Ichiro deserves to start just because if the Mariners did not have ichiro I don't think they'd be as good as they are now since he changes the face of the game with his ability to steal, get on base and hit for average and his defense is CRAZEEE~ Put Ichiro on any other contending team and they'd probably be a deal better. Homerun hitters and rbi guys can be found anywhere but guys like Ichiro are rare and hard to come by. :-B

For all you Rolen haters --

Pujols isn't doing anything different this year that he wasen't doing last year or the year before, and yet *somehow* he's putting up monster numbers.

Last year the Cards swept the DBacks, putting up insane offensive numbers against them -- and couldn't do squat against the Giants.

Could either case have something to do with.... SCOTT ROLEN :-?

He means a hell of a lot more more to the Cards than Lowell does to the Marlins. Do they really need Lowell to be a losing ballclub? I bet they could do that with Cabrera at 3B. And the defense is incomparable.

Bat Lowell behind Pujols and Edmonds and lets see how it effects his numbers.

Ichiro is good, and flashy. But as a objective Mariner fan, hes not close to a top 5 outfielder. I must admit hes overrated.
