Wily Mo Pena to Red Sox Official

Accoring to FoxSports...

The Sox would give up Bronson Arroyo - who pitched 5 scoreless against Baltimore today. Wily Mo would platoon with Trot Nixon or the Sox would seek to trade Nixon.

I'm sure Boston would have to give up more than just Arroyo for Pena.

This could be interesting, I think the Reds would be making a mistake though trading him before he has been given a real chance. For the Red Sox they would be better if they found room for him, he will just be fed up with another platoon again. Though I guess whenever Manny finally leaves, Pena can take over the bad defense in LF role. :-b

If I were Cincy I'd insist on getting Arroyo and 1 of the 3 Lester, Pap, or Hanson. Can Boston do that with Wells being gone next year and Wake being 42? probably

Do you guys have Pena ranked much higher than I do?

The Sox will not part with Papelbon, Hansen, or Lester for a guy who to date has been a .250 hitter - regardless of his power. Remember, Theo is an OBP guy.
