need to blow off saves and SB's the rest of the way

Currently in third in each category. 69 SB, 29 Saves. Most teams are running with 2 closers.

As i have 3 closers, I am thinking of trading Kim to try and get a SP, and seeing what sort of value I can get for Pierre. The goal is not to finish last ($$). Last year's loser in SB had 71, loser in saves had 45. So the bottom pack in each was 70 in SB and 50's in Saves.

what do the guru's think?

I'm not sure you should give up either category if you are in 3rd. I generally do think that a Pierre is a detriment to your team if you aren't getting your other stats from your other players.

He doesn't have that high of an average, doesn't score too many runs, ZERO hr's, few RBI.

I'd try to trade Pierre for a multi-threat guy. A guy who might get 10-10 for the rest of the way.

It depends on how you're doing in the other 8 categories. In general, you want to make a trade that will allow you to hold or only drop slightly in the category you're trading away but make a major move in the category you're trading for.

Pierre is a perfectly valuable player to have in your OF, but he is a two category (runs and SB) specialist, so in order to have pure power hitters, guys that get 40 HR, 100 RBI in the other two slots.

How many teams are in your league? Show us your roster too. 3rd place in those two categories is pretty good, so why would you deal away a strength and make it a weakness? If you're in third in saves and you have one more closer than most, its probably a good idea to hang on to him so you make sure that you continue to do well in saves. If you have your heart set on tanking saves for some reason, wait until Kim gets a few saves under his belt, which will help his value. I also see little reason to trade away Pierre.

Yes, what is the rest of your roster? If you've got some guys that are just cold right now (Ordonez...heating up, Abreu, Green), you'll be fine.

Why are you blowing those categories off? Sounds like you are in a good position to stay near the top in both if you have Pierre and 3 closers. Blowing them off doesn't seem to make any kind of sense, but if you post your roster and standings in the other cats we can help more.

true-I have Sweeney and B. Williams out right now. as for categories I am in trouble in, they are K, HR, runs, & RBI's. I am 5th in a 9 team league of 5x5. WHIP, ERA, SB, and Saves are all fine, and Wins and AVG are ok.
OF-G. Anderson
OF-J. Pierre
OF-L Walker
1B Right now Wilkerson
2B Kennedy (major problem)
SS Jeter
3B Glaus
C I Rod.
DH Been shuffling Teixera and B Santiago until B Williams gets back.

SP D Wells
SP H Nomo
SP O Perez
SP R Ortiz
SP E Dessens
Closers-Kim, Wagner and Worrell

There's more, but that's pretty much it except for the backups, who unilaterally suck.

So you can see I'm in trouble!

Here are some select free agents available:
M Young, A Gonzalez (FL), Bill Mueller, D Young.
OF FA-Baldelli, Byrnes, Jenkins, Posednik, and Bradley.

Pitching wise it's basically Ishii, Ponson and Peavy. Probably Webb to, but FA cost $$ in our league, so out of that whole list I can probably get 1 or 2.
