Can someone tell me why you would draft Pierre

If Kenny Lofton gets the full time job in center and stays healthy he could put up similar numbers to Pierre. Last year in only 367 ABs Lofton hit .335 with 67 runs and 22 SB.

that's about the only guy i can think off and that would depend greatly on him not getting hurt and being able to play 130 gmaes at the least. i think the limited at bats was better for him as it kept him healthy. he hasn't approached 600 at bats since 98 nor stolen more than 30 since that year either.

given 400 at bats i could see him in the above .300 range 80r 25-30 sb range and if you platoon him with someone else you cold get to 100 40 pretty easily.

I was thinking him too, but Lofton hasn't stolen 30 bases in half a decade, nevermind 40.

Womack's got the starting job in Cinci... maybe that's who he's referring to.

still never stolen more that 20 at any level in the minors. the most he has swiped was 19 in 387 ab's in 03. 04 he had 4 more ab's and only got 10. if he gets 500 ab's and doesn't struggle and hits .300 (all big if's as a rookie) he could get to 30 but i would think that's his ceiling for this year atleast. my guess would be more lik 15-20.

Womack's only bat .300 once in the past 10 years and is a .273 career hitter. And he again is another player who hasn't even swiped 30 bags in half a decade. I certainly hope he's not our myster man.

Kenny Lofton had a 37% hit rate last year, when it drops back to his normal 30% he'll be hitting .275 not .335. Last year was nothing but a small sample size fluke for him.

I don't think we'll ever know. My guess is the original poster saw his guy revealed, then skewered, so he's "leaving it a mystery."

Maybe that'll shame him into telling us, huh?
