Postby KoRnholio » Wed Feb 22, 2006 9:52 pm

H2H...deep rosters...5x5...just drafted...any areas I may need to address before opening day?

C J. Varitek (Bos - C)
1B M. Teixeira (Tex - 1B)

2B C. Figgins (LAA - 2B,3B,LF,CF)
2B T. Iguchi (CWS - 2B)
3B A. Ramírez (ChC - 3B)
3B B. Inge (Det - 3B)
SS J. Peralta (Cle - SS)
SS O. Vizquel (SF - SS)
LF J. Bay (Pit - LF,CF)
CF B. Giles (SD - CF,RF)
RF J. Lane(Hou - RF)
OF C. Lee (Mil - LF)
OF C. Crisp (Bos - LF,CF)
OF A. Rowand (Phi - CF)
Util R. Ibañez (Sea - LF)
Util A. Kearns (Cin - RF)
Util C. Sullivan (Col - LF,CF)

Pitching

SP B. Sheets (Mil - SP)
SP A. Pettitte(Hou - SP)
RP C. Cordero (Was - RP)
RP F. Cordero(Tex - RP)
P R. Dempster (ChC - SP,RP)
P J. Garland (CWS - SP)

BN J. Bonderman (Det - SP)
BN E. Santana (LAA - SP)
BN J. Lieber (Phi - SP)
BN T. Jones (Det - RP)
BN S. Chacón (NYY - SP)

As you can see hitting is favored, so I focused my early draft picks on hitting, and tossed a pitcher in every now and then...in the later rounds it was vice versa...How'd I do?

Very deep at offense, though SBs past Figgins should be a problem. You have a lot of 2nd/3rd tier SPs who could all have decent years, but no one that stands above the pack (unless Sheets stays healthy and the Brewers win a lot of games). Pretty solid team--top third of the league with upside.

Looks pretty good...how many people in the league? If 10-12, I'd say you can expect a top 3 finish. If less than that, probaly not. I'm going to guess its less than 10, since you got so many first round picks...

I never do anything below 10. I usually go 12-14, but was happy with this 10 teamer because it had so much depth at offense. I think I drafted with some noobs...for instance...John Lackey at pick 243 or something. Got him in the 23rd round (give or take)

10 teams.

For someone who sacrificed pitching for power hitting you did ok. Nice value pick on Lackey. I'm surprised he was overlooked. Sheets and Pettite could pan out. The Corderos are always good.
