As a National, Wilkerson wasn’t playing in a ball park … he was playing in a National Park!
In Reality: Helton definitely benefitted from playing in the rare air of Colorado.
Although the guy has a penchant for striking out, (308 Ks out of 1,266 AB the past three seasons) he’s been working on his plate discipline, offers great value, and may well be underpriced due to last year’s injury (which shouldn’t hamper him this year) and off-season move to Seattle’s Safeco Field
. If he played for a more prominent franchise, he would be annointed as one of the game’s brightest young players.
Bagwell’s 2005 was a train wreck. It was, unfortunately, a season throughly and completely abbreviated by a shoulder that’s currently being held together by a couple of tendons, a ligament of two, and I believe some dental floss.
He’s simply not prepaerd to hang up the spikes and end a career that began 15 long years ago.

(But in my defense, benefitted can take either one or two Ts, and underpriced really is just one word.)
Anyway, the typos have been fixed now - thanks for catching them, and hope you enjoy the rest of Jamey's position-by-position analysis, too!
