UC Davis Baseball

You probably know next to nothing about the UC Davis Aggies. We're a former Division-II powerhouse that is in the midst of a four year reclassification process to D-I that will end in 2007-2008 when most of our teams will be competing in the Big West Conference.

Perhaps you saw us mentioned on Sports Center for beating Stanford in football and basketball this year.

Well, UC Davis baseball (4-2) has already taken games from No. 9 San Diego (who I bet most people know little about) and Cal. The Aggies will be playing Oregon State, Stanford, Long Beach, Fullerton, San Francisco, and more great baseball teams this season. The Aggies could make their way into the top 30 teams in the nation at some point this season.

If you want to know more, let me know. I'm just a college town baseball beat writer who knows he's watching something special.

P.S. If any of you read Baseball America, some of my coverage of the West Coast college baseball teams could be featured in their magazine this year.
