Start Zito vs. Giants Tomorrow?

Any thoughts anyone?
Go Giants, that means you too Barry. Think you can run over to catch the ball for us? Jeez, thanks.

Of course! Why wouldn't you? He's an ace, pitching in a pitcher's park.

Or, if you are of the more quantitative mind set, consider that in his only start against the Giants he allowed only one run, four hits, and 2 walks in 6.2 innings (1.35 ERA, 0.90 WHIP) for the win.

Or that over the last month he has a 3.13 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP.

I suspect he'll pitch a similar game as the last time he faced the Giants. He's a good big game pitcher, and there will be a good crowd and a lot of excitement around this game. He's got a decent shot at the win, with Rueter pitching. Although if I had to bet I would guess that the win will go to one of the relievers in a close game.

Start with confidence!

Zito's a top 5 starter and you should start him everywhere and in every situation without thinking twice about it. His overall stats for the year will be excellent, and while every pitcher has at least a few bad starts a year, you will just drive yourself crazy and shoot yourself in the foot if you try to predict them. Just start your studs no matter what.

Zito is a top notch pitcher that shouldnt be questioned about when to start. But dont get your hopes up on a win. They cant score any runs whiles he's out there so if you want a game where he'll give up a run or two and still get a loss or ND but still get you good whip/era totals never question IF you should start Zito. Its getting rather annoying that Oakland cant provide something for their starters.

Thanks guys. I need wins. The run support is really starting to piss me off.

I am going to start him.
