Kent on DL, who to replace?

Postby Guest » Fri Jun 27, 2003 6:18 pm

Ok, I'm about to pickup someone to play 2b or SS for a little while since Kent is out for a bit.

Who should I grab? I'm second in steals with a 4sb lead and 13 behind the top guy.

Homers, Rbis, runs is somewhere in the middle to top area. BA is where I'm hurting, in 8th.

I'm thinking either Bo Hart or Cintron for now. I like Reyes too, but his low BA and lack of pop concern me.

Go with Cintron. I think he's here to stay. Bo Hart will come down to earth and so will Reyes. Reyes' time will come next year!

I'm not convinced Hart is going to fall back to earth as quickly as most are claiming. There's been a lot of guys off to good starts in the last 30 years, but his start ranks among the best. He couldn't ask for a better line-up.

Still, I picked up Cintron and just recently began using him full-time. They are different players for sure. Hart is smallish. He should get runs, SB's and maybe continue hitting for a nice avg. Cintron won't give you steals, but will help you everywhere else, including a couple HR's. Cintron is also 2B/SS/3B eligible in most leagues after his 15th game at 3B today. At worst, Cintron is a valuable 3 position back-up.

Hart has a bigger upside based on his start, but is also a big risk to stumble. Most think he will soon falter. He hasn't done this in the minors, he shouldn't be doing it now. He is though, and it doesn't matter if people believe his stats. They still count. Regardless, he is likely a short term option. Cintron could help you the rest of the year.

Choose accordingly.
