Expert CBS Set-up Help Needed

We are having a difficult time setting the roster rules on CBS. Here's the situation.

We are a 20 team H2H dynasty, cap league with contracts. We have 27-man major league rosters and 14-man minor league rosters.

The positions we want are:
C
1B
2B
3B
SS
OF(3)
UTIL

SP(4)
RP(3)
P(3)

Reserve (8)
There is a 19 active players max.

One problem is that there are no P spots just SP or RP. So we put in
SP minimum=4, max=7
RP minimum=3, max=7

The problem is we don't really want minimums as we want the GMs to be able to play the matchups. So if we take off the illegal roster setting, GMs would then be free to play the matchups and sit out a position w/o penalty. But, if they decide to sit say a 1B that day then guess what, they could actually use 11 pitchers rather than the ten max we planned on.

Is there any way around this. This min/max thing seems like a real headache rather than straight roster positions.

Any help from experienced commishes of CBS would be appreciated.

i don't think so. you're best off just sucking it up and splitting your 3 wild-card pitchers into some combination of 1 - 2 starters/relievers.

Here's how I do it in our league. Set the maximum number of pitchers at each position, 7 for SP, 6 for RP. Also, for each hitting position, make the minimum and the maximum the same. Because each team will be forced to fill each hitting spot, the remaining spots can be used for pitchers, however the owners see fit. It works, the only drawback being you have to start a hitter all the time, you can't leave a spot empty (not that you would want to).
