I dont think anyone will hit 400. If anyone does, it will be a Rockie. One bad week can bury you. The media pressure everyday is just too much. Guys who hit 400 before didnt have to deal with media madness, tv, etc.

I think Bonds had the best chance, but he didn't get it done a couple of years ago. Pujols is a terrific hitter and probably the best in the game, but EVERYONE goes in a slump during a season, and so will he. I would be thrilled if he hit .400, but I just don't see it happening.

I voted yes.. although i will be surprised to see it i still think he can do it this year. Nobody thought the homerun record would fall. Then all the sudden it wasnt broken one time.. but several. For a guy 3 yrs in the league to be this good is insane. I think even if he doesnt hit .400 this year.. he will sooner or later if he can stay healthy. And i think he has a good shot at being the one who holds the record for highest BA in a year.

Hornsbys 424 average is pretty safe. Since Ted hit 400 in 41, only 8 times since has anyone hit 370.

He might come close one year, but it won't be this year, and he won't hit .400.

pujols has a solid chance, but i wouldn't bet on it. i can, however, see the kid being one of the most dominant .375 hitters... ever. .375/40/140? that's some third season in the bigs.. he's, what, 23? he should be a treat to watch at age 27-30.

i think gwynn was probably a better pure hitter, but pujols is in the same ballpark in terms of contact with much much more power.

Personally, I think it's too early to tell.
Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
