Rice, Dawson and Mattingly would get in before him. Dale Murphy should before Grace.

If Grace gets in then Will the Thrill should get in.

None of those players should be in HoF.

But for the sake of arguement, if I was going to rank them as most deserving, this is how it would look.

Dawson
Rice
Grace
Murphy
Mattingly
.
.
.
.
Clark

Gracey is one of my favorite Cubs ever, and easily my favorite over the past 20 years. But hes just not a Hall of Famer.

2007: Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken Jr.
2008: Jim Rice, Goose Gossage and Mark McGwire (too many writers are already "Nothing has been proven," so he won't get in on the first ballot, but will get in on second try.
2009: Rickey Henderson
2010: none elected

You think Mark Grace won't even get in on his 2nd try? i'm not saying you're wrong cause I don't know a lot about the HOF voting and how long a standard wait is for each player and how it varies but do you think he would get in later?

he was a nice player, but doesn't have the home runs, didn't get 3000 hits and was never domiant. 173 homeruns out of a first baseman in the 1990's just doesn't cut it. I don't think Harold Baines or Tim Raines will make the hall before 2010, but a better case could be made for them than Mark Grace.

They already set the standards so low when they let Puckett in that I think at the very least they should let Rice in.

Sutter is in this year!

Doesnt look like Guillen got enough votes to stay on, however maybe he can still get on as a GM in 20 years

One of the good things about the Hall of Fame voting is that they give voters a long time to assess and reassess their thoughts about a player. So, I have no problem with a guy taking 11 ballots to make it in. Given the IQ of some of the voters, it can take 11 years just to get them to spell a guy's name right, much less to look objectively at the evidence.
