I was watching the Reds/Cubs game on TV a few days ago, and the announcers were talking about why Griffey has been slow to get it going since his injury. His shoulder still isn't strong enough for him to turn quick enough to get ahold of inside pitches...so for now, pitchers are just going inside and able to get him out. But they also said that over the course of the season, the shoulder will get stronger and stronger, and enable him to turn quicker. This should improve his stats tremendously (barring another injury of course). I for one am sticking with him...he's too good of a player to drop IMO. However, you are right....for the time being, he's not doing too well. Patience is the key...so many teams who think they're doing great because they're in first, have nothing but first half players. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather be in first anyday, but I also would like some struggling stars who I KNOW will turn it around before the season is over (Tejada, Chipper, Piazza, and Griffey) are all on my team, and I'm still in 4th. I'm feeling pretty good actually.
