Any ideas where he ends up? Latest rumors are saying the Blue Jays. They have Greg Zaun signed for only $1 million why would they sign Molina who probably would command at least $3-4 million and want two years or more? And he hasn't been healthy the last couple of seasons. The Padres have also been rumored to be interested.

Molina screwed himself when he completely balked at a few good offers. Now those teams (ARI, BAL, etc) have signed their catchers. There really isnt a market for his position right now and he'll feel the pain when he signs for less than what he could have early in the offseason.

We all know he's kicking himself for not taking that Mets offer early on during the offseason.

Just out of curiousity, what was the Mets offer? Is there any chance he resigns with the Angels?

He probably signs a one year deal with someone and tries again next season.

Maybe SF or SD on the cheap. SF needs a backup C and Matheny is no winning prize as a starter. SD has Mirabelli starting. He would have to likely take a lot less money.

The Angels didn't offer him arbitration, which is what really screwed him. He can't negotiate with them until May 1st, so that eliminates what was his likely fallback plan.

The Mets are believed to have offered him $15 million-$18 million for three years. They're also talking to Ramon Hernandez. Odds are that they'll have themselves a new catcher before the end of next week's winter meetings.

The Jays are looking for a long-term catcher, Zaun (35) isn't that.

I love Bengie. He was one of my favorite Angels, but I'd rather have a 35 year old Zaun at $1 million than Molina at his age/weight at $5-6 million.

Come on watching Molina run is one of the true highlights in the game. Slowest man in MLB. The only man in the league that can make Jorge Posada look speedy.
