12/23/05 Signed free agent outfielder Johnny Damon, who had been with the Red Sox, to a four-year contract.

12/22/05 Re-signed OF Bernie Williams to a one-year contract.

12/15/05 Signed LHP Mike Myers to a two-year contract.

12/8/05 Signed OF Chris Prieto to a Minor League contract and invited him to Spring Training; Acquired INF Kevin Howard and OF Benjamin Himes from the Cincinnati Reds for INF/OF Tony Womack and cash considerations.

12/2/05 Signed RHP Kyle Farnsworth to a three-year contract.

11/30/05 Signed free agent C Kelly Stinnett to a one-year contract.

11/18/05 Purchased the contracts of LHP Matt Smith and OF Kevin Thompson from Triple-A Columbus, RHP Matt DeSalvo and RHP Jeffrey Karstens from Double-A Trenton, and T.J. Beam from Class A Charleston.

11/15/05 Agreed to terms with OF Hideki Matsui on a four-year contract extension through the 2009 season; Exercised the 2006 contract option on RHP Tanyon Sturtze.

11/8/05 Declined the club option on 1B Tino Martinez, making him a free agent.

10/19/05 Sent 2B Mark Bellhorn outright to Triple-A Columbus; Bellhorn refused the assignment and is now a free agent.

December 16, 2005 Acquired pitcher Ron Villone from the Florida Marlins for pitcher Ben Julianel.

October 27, 2005 Signed general manager Brian Cashman to a three-year contract.

Lee Mazzilli Bench Coach, Ron Guidry Pitching Coach, Larry Bowa Third Base Coach and Tony Pena First Base Coach.

So far it has been a very successful offseason. I would like to see two more things happen:

1. Trade Pavano for some prospects.

2. (most importantly) Find a way to obtain a solid starting pitcher.
